what to do....

So i think i've narrowed it down to two different choices...I'm thinking either an Fi x12 (400w rms) or an aa assassin 12(250w rms)

i will probably end up with a sealed box unless i could build a ported box that wouldnt be too much bigger because i have a regular cab truck. This week i'll try to take some measurements of the boxes i have now and see what the biggest box i could comfortably get in there is

Right now the amp i have puts out 250w rms at 4 ohms. If i want more power i'd have the option with the Fi to get a bigger amp later if i wanted to.

Just looking for some input guys. Thanks in advance.

Completely agree! Fi has horrible customer service IMO and i will never buy another sub from them. Look into a ssa dcon though with your power

The assassin will take more than 250 prolly closer to 500 pretty easy if the signal is clean. Also you know that fi and Ascendant are the same owner but you have to get Ascendant from a dealer. You can't buy direct from them

My problem is that i have a regular cab truck and i was hoping to keep it as slim as possible without getting a slim sub. I think the boxes i have now have a outside depth of 6 inches.

And i was looking at a 12 because i listen to quite a bit or rap and such, and i now that generally the bigger the sub the lower it will hit but i could be wrong.

I listen to rap as well. And 8s can get nasty low. I had 3 ported that did just as good maybe better tthan my 18 on low notes

Personally id get a single 8 in your situation. The 8 with the right box space will out weigh the 12 with not right box space.

I have a ported Sundown SA-8 and its awesome. I brought my truck over to the local car audio place and they loved it. My next idea is a ported 10 though. In my opinion, sealed is not an option.
