what to buy- Soundstream DTR1.2200D for $275 or Clarion DPX11551 for $175

I can get a line on either of these amps for the price in the thread title

The SS is brand spanking new - the clarion is factory refurbed

At present I'm only looking at running my system at 2ohms as thats what my sub stage currently runs at - boo to me for not having something thats 1ohm or I'd be able to go ALOT cheaper for the 1200'ish watts I want

Sonicelectronics says for some odd reason that those SS are CEA compliant (kinda find that hard to believe) - and I know that Clarion is

I'm sure some people have used that Clarion - but what about that soundstream line of amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif is it worth the 100 bucks difference?

I like that the sound stream has "potential" for higher output at 1ohm but I won't be pushing that any time soon - my electrical sure isn't up to par for that right now and I'm only looking at getting a decent 80ah AGM battery in the back or maybe a 100ah if I wanna drive that far.... to replace the current 30-35ah batt back there now

Where are you seeing the dtr for that price? Ive been hearing its a beast and either does rated or pretty close to it. If i didnt get my aq2200 I would of def gone with the dtr. Its also nice because its so small.

I cannot disclose where I'm getting the DTR from but its coming directly from a dealer/rep for them

soundstream used to be a prime target for reference products but after the buyout they really went down hill... now they are tring to make a comeback.. the build house is know for producing lesser quality amps but the soundstream mid to high end lines get great reviews.. i know the clarion amps are decent amps as well.. i know the SS is going to do rater power and so will the clarion.. im not a huge fan of refurbs and honestly for 2K rms@1ohm with 13.8 volts for less than 300 is a great deal.. Id say SS..

The DPX11551 is a great amp at a great price, but being "factory refurb'd" makes me weary of it. If it was TRULY refurbished by Clarion or a well known technician, such as dB-r, then I'd go for it, but if it was rebuilt by someone random who does repairs in their spare time, I'd avoid it.

I would go for the soundstream that is a good deal new. The lowest I saw them for was like $325 on ebay before.
