I like old school Slick Rick, Special Ed, Biz Markie, 2Pac (2Pacalypse Now), Digital Underground, Old Cypress Hill (Pigs, Hole in the Head etc), EPMD, Kool G Rap and DJ Polo, Eric B and Rakim, Guru (Gangstarr), Old Fat Joe (Shorty Got Fat ***, Shit is real), Tribe Called Quest, Onyx, Smif-N-Wessun, Black Moon, Old school Eric Sermon, Mobb Deep, Jeru the Damaja, A Tribe Called Quest, Old Nas (sorry I think most of the shit he has come out with since his first CD is either wack or politically motivated FTL).

I even throw in a little Spice 1 (love for d boyz) if I am feeling a little crazy..

Most of you kiddies have no clue what real hip hop/rap is after being brainwashed by the commercial BS they play these days.. The biggest thing that pisses me off is people like Fat Joe, Redman, Method Man who sold out to either make music for the teenie boppers or to get on film but I guess why bother if you are not gonna go after as much paper as possible.

that shit on TV is also garbage not even hip hop, not even rap. that is pop music, the producer says ok u get one verse chorus one verse chorus and thats the end of the song, and they have to keep every commercial rap song under 3 minutes and 30 seconds. that is not art, not even freedom of expression. shit like immortal technique even though his flow gets annoying and repetitive at times, sage francis..hip hop is poetry, just spoken poetry instead of a different kind. nas was good and still is but nothing can compare to illmatic. the same year wu dropped 36 chambers..it gets a 10/10..now wu is falling apart. theres company flow to look at it. thirsten howl III, pharoahe monch's old shit, all of mos def's old shit before rawkus broke up. eminem's undeground material with scam, with thirsten howl III, and on soundbombing 2 and also in the anthem with RZA. chino XL is an amazing lyricist. the arosnists has some amazing music before q unique went to psycho logical records . big daddy kane..aint no half steppin..grandmaster flash-the message, break dance, i mean there is just so much knowledge out there. hell, scribble jam aint even about really hip hop half the time.

There are still good rappers out there you just have to know where to find them.

Haystak, Lil Wyte, Frayser Boy, pre-Mainstream Chamillionaire and Paul Wall, anything Bun B and Pimp C put out is still nasty, Yo Gotti is nice, 8 Ball and MJG Pre-Signing with Diddy, Dirtbag, Project Pat pre-jail

I think Bombs Over Baghdad was their peak. I remember when that track came out, it was coming out of everyone's car.

Actually, Outkast has became quite normal and trendy now-a-days. Outkast was wearing and doing shit no one else did at the time. They pretty much started the Throwback Craze singlehandedly, They were wearing dashikis and irish jig outfits to award ceremonies, They were different then than they are now.
