What specs should I look for to get SQ 6.5 and 5.25 comps?

I've looked at Image dynamics Ctx65cs and Alpine SPX-17ref and pro and Pioneer premier

Another thing I want to know the categories for brands ,

E.g Alpine Type-X then Type-R then S or E If I remember. where to get such info?

I've heard great things from diamond audio comps or rainbows comp..boston acoustic pro comps...those are some of good ones that wont break your wallet like some other sets that I seen for $800+..but remember, you get what you pay for..

Unfortunately I don't have the option to hear before buy as I don't have time to do so.

I'm depending on Car audio forum members and looking at item specs.- considering it's true. I know it's risk but I have no other choice.

I will look at the coms you recommended but I don't know how to compare.

None of the typically provided manufacturer specs will tell you much of anything about "sound quality" differences.

The best you can hope for is to find someone who has conducted objective measurements of the drivers.....Bl, Kms, Le curves and distortion plots. This information is, however, for the most part few and far between for car audio drivers. Which means if you don't have the ability to listen to the drivers yourself in a somewhat objective environment, that you must rely upon others subjective reviews of the drivers in question and take a stab at it based on that.

There is some good, objective information provided at places like DIYMA, Zaph Audio and Mark K's website......but unfortunately most (not all, but most) of the drivers objectively tested are home audio drivers and not the speakers used in car audio component sets (for the most part....there are however many car audio speakers based on these OEM home drivers)
