What specs are important when buying a battery for audio?

Is reserve capacity and discharge rate more important or should I be looking for high CCA? I realize that I will never drop the battery down to 7.2 or whatever voltage they use when determining CCA. but does that indicate that it is a stronger battery? This is for a daily system listening with the car running. I am thinking about using these because I can get them for dirt cheap.

but I wonder if the low CCAs mean they are weak. The other specs are about the same as a G31 YT.

I heard gel cells freeze up in the cold. But Im not sure, I believe their was a past post about it.

It will not freeze (when fully charged, it canfunction in -30C or -20F). These batteries are ideal for part-time dwellings

where they can be left unattended for long periods of time.

the only problem is they dont last as long as AGM or lead acid batteries. But for the price I'm getting it may not matter.

CCA and CA are specs 30 second tests running a 12v battery down to 7.2 volts. Know of any amplifiers that run on 8 volts?

Then find something with a high CCA rating. The first two MN winters killed my stock Mazda battery and that was replaced with a Orbital deep cycle. I loved the thing and it performed like a champ. I could remote start my car no problem if it had been sitting outside for days in sub-zero temps. But, I also listen to my system a lot without the engine running and would completely deep cycle the thing during the summer and it would bounce right back with the alty charging it.

Anyway, I think you should look for the most CCA's for the money, personally.
