I dont like the sound of an Type R, i would go with a Phoenix gold RSD or RSDC.. Give it 600 watts or 800 CLEAN and you will have a hard hitting setup.
Better solution than an R imo.

I dont think the bass sounds as clean, my friend has 2 r's getting 800w rms from 2 1000w monoblocks in a sealed box and i dont think it sounds as good as Phoenix golds RSD or RSDC setup.

I have heard two RSD's at 1000w rms and they POUND and are very clean. My RSDC hits very hard on 500w rms ported at 29hz, i think if it was RSDC vs R at 800w rms a RSDC would win for sure.

but its really down to preference, its just my opinion.

Are the kicker L7's better than the alpine Type R's? And yeah, my friend has an alpine and it is pretty sweet, I'd go with they are saying, an alpine type R.

I would say so, i have given a pair of l7's 4000wrms and they held up fine but i wouldn't suggest trying it unless you know what your doing. They really come alive at and above 1000rms.

IF you had to pick one it would be the MTX I have heard that setup in a Honda passport - if all you want is a little bass thats the one - the sony setup is a fvcking joke and it sounds like poo and you would have to be retarded to buy the sony exploder setup.

seriously do not buy a cheap package, take it from me!! i bought a really cheap package for $150 (2 10" mtx subs and cheap mtx amp) than upgraded slightly to the mtx package and im unhappy with them. I spent all this money and get even sell the stuff, spend the extra hundred or 200$ and really get the quality. TRUST ME YOU REGRET IT IF YOU GO CHEAP!
