Hey guys, talking about the car/system in the sig.

I can barely dim the lights when bumping, but its still a bit of dimming. After I upgrade my subs/amp (in sig), I'll be pulling more power, so I was wondering what I should do. Should I get a battery and throw it in the back, or just replace the one under the hood? Kind of lost on where to start, and any idea's are welcome.

I doubt I can fit a HO out in mybudget (has to stay under $200, and would like it to be under $160 or so), but feel free to let me know whats best.

Also, [noob question] everyone talks about they're car putting out 14 and 16volts and such, just wondering where that reading is taken from. Like how much the alternator can put out or take, or is it something else?

Thanks for reading

Say that again?

Seems funny that you have all this equipment but dont know the basics. Got buy a multimeter if you have a Harbor Freight (or anywhere really) near you. It can do wonders for troubleshooting/installing. That 14-16v measurement is taken when the car is on.

Hah, I worded that wrong, obvisusly. I ment: I can dim the lights a little bit, but dimming is dimming, and it'll only get worse.

Hahaha, ironic isn't it?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm great with equipment, but not in the know when it comes to current and power. I have a good multimeter, but thanks for the suggestion. Any suggestions on where to take my readings (at battery or alt I'm guessing)?

Edit:

Can anyone suggest a battery for me?

Lastly, do I have to have both batteries the same (front & back), seems that lately everyone's been saying that...
