what kind of wilderness dwelling snake is this lol

yeah man we arent in the north pole here! let me guess you didnt think w33d was this far north either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif haha... I heard Canada has some REAL good stuff......

Just a little garter snake (often miscalled a gardener or garden snake)

They're found all over and are pretty harmless. They don't tend to strike, if this one did it was just because it was already riled up.

I generally tell non-herp people if you don't know, leave it alone. I once knew a (stupid) kid who caught a really cool "garter snake" that turned out to be a baby water moccasin. They look nothing alike, but the point is if you don't know leave it be.

Sorry, I have a Wedding on the 4th, so the 5th is a hangover day. And im adding another sub.

But thanks anyway. I may see you at some other shows this summer. Seems to be a few around this year.

I didn't know snakes were that far north...
haha, apparently they arent very common up there... Looks like a garter snake though. I've seen them in "swarms" of HUNDREDS at a time around here. Anyway, just relocate the snake and let it do it's part. . .No need to kill it imo.

crazy. thanks for all the info, good bad or otherwise lol...

we have to worry more with mountain lions/bobcats etc etc... oh yeah about a week ago we had a big bad *** Coyote come within 20 feet of our bedroom french doors... that was insane! I have a pic of it but its a really bad pic and you can barely see anything b/c he was against the woodline so he blended good.

I had the same problem...the snake later ended up escaping into my friends bedroom.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif We never found it either...guess it made its way back outside.

I read of a case where one ate a poisioness mushroom and bit someone the poision in its mouth ended up killing the person it bit
Hmmm... I don't know about that. First, I've never seen a snake eat a mushroom... though I have seen one smoke weed. Well, we bonged out the tank.

Second, their heads are so small and a quick bite wouldn't really be able to deliver much... I mean they can't even really get much of their weak assed venom into you, so...
