What kind of glue?

What kind of (CA) glue would one use to repair a cracked plastic cone?

I did some quick googling and there are so many different types of CA glues out there. Rubberized, non ruberized, quick set, thick, etc.. FWIW the plastic is black.

I assume the rubberized is the black goop you often see around tinsel leads and on the back side of some terminals.

the CA won't bond to 99% of poly. Depending on what your trying to fix, you will have to try some 2part epoxy or some rubber based adhesive

The forum was having a moment as I hit submit. Tried to delete the second thread but there isn't an option.

You can't use CA on poly, it will crack.
Dang, glad I asked then! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

[EDIT]

Just looked up the specs. The cone is described as "PROPRIETARY COC/GRAPHITE CONE injected with Nitrogen bubbles"

So what happens when the entire cone assembly flexes/deflects and the ca cracks off? It's brittle..even if you prep it it still doesn't keep it from being brittle...which is why we don't use CA on the poly dust-caps. It cracks off...

Well I can't seem to find anything on the internet about gluing COC (cyclo-olefin-copolymer) plastic.

I'm waiting for the manufacturer to open now to give them a call.

Just spoke to the manufactuer.. He suggested putting some blue painters tape on the inside of the cone on the crack, and use some thin CA on the back side.

They told me the CA would be fine, just not to use the accelerator on it because i could deform that part of the from the heat of it curing.

The cone definitely isn't poly, but I didn't think to ask what the dustcap was made from..
