It was a rehtorical question. Like the ones you claim to ask that need no answer.
"Clinically Dead.... in this case is it not just an observation in a clinic or hospital? Observations can be wrong."
You expressed the thought that clinical death was "just an observation" as if someone just took a glance and decided "clinically dead".
It's a bit more complicated than that. You know, EKG, pulse check, blood pressure, body temps, vital functions that you learned about in anatomy classes.
Then on top of vital functions, there's brain activity.

Vital functions and brain activity. Separate but convolved.

Because the ancients didn't realize it wasn't as valuable or rare as many other resources.
It was shiny and stayed shiny, and was relatively rare, so they thought it was THE shit.

They didn't know the truth about that, yet we turn to them for proof of god/higher powers/souls/astral planes/etc.
Maybe ancient peoples mined gold because they knew of gold’s usage in electrical devices. Who would take time to mine gold if they didn’t have a realistic use for it?

Because it’s shiny and attracts. People like that stuff, even when it has no useful purposes.
The jewelry industry thrives on it.

So, entire ancient civilizations spent massive amounts of energy to mine something with hardcore hand labor, because gold is shiny? Not because it’s the best usable conductor for electricity?
The slave labor was free. Hence, the pyramids.
And...silver is the best conductor of electricity. Gold is not even the 2nd best.

I'm sure this didn't hurt: "It is not surprising that gold was the first metal processed by the Egyptians. Very few metals are found in their native state, i.e., not bound to other elements in a compound such as a mineral."
"Gold was highly valued for its rarity and ability to reflect light, making it a natural choice for displays of rank and authority."

How do you distinguish history from religion? Have you ever studied ancient Egypt or Mesopotamia?
Yes. The problem is religion predates written history and they're intermixed. The numerous religious texts floating around on this planet are great sources of historical information and a great source of "fairy tales."

That said, my point was how does one ascend to a higher plane since there is no guidebook? The Buddhists for example believe I'm stuck on this plane and the best I can do is achieve enlightenment, but I'm stuck here trying to enlighten others. Until "they" trap me in my body and enslave me or kill me or send me to a lower dimension or whatever "they" are going to do with me. Christianity offers me an easy out - just believe in Jesus and ask for forgiveness and I get to go to heaven - but they're the bad guys, which I assume means Islam and Judaism are also evil.

The ancients (hell, some currents) think natural phenomena are an angry god exacting punishment upon us.

They might not be the best source of proof for unverifiable events like astral projection, or the existence of a god or gods.
When a god is brought up, religion is usually concurrent. And a god (or plural) was brought up.

That’s a good closing line. It falls right into the “proof is unnecessary; you must just believe” line of argument.

How do you know that what the oldest humans said is a fairy tail? Do you think everything they said should be discounted as a fairy tail, because you simply don’t understand?

Can we jump away from the lack of proof IS the proof?
Let's be realistic.: The contradictions and inconsistencies within and between the ancient religious texts is a clear indication that so much of it is just made-up nonsense that was repeated generation to generation, until it was finally written down over the course of years.

None of it is a transcription of events even by an author a single generation removed. "The Bible is a collection of writings from approximately forty separate authors, written on three separate continents, comprised in three separate languages, and was compiled over the span of an estimated 1,500–1,600 years."

That is like writing down a story that your mom told you that started in her family in 500BC, and calling it "historical fact".
FFS, people screw up when repeating a story they heard first-hand, or an event they WITNESSED first-hand. A story that is 80 generations old and only ever repeated verbally? NOPE.

Did you miss my whole rant about the Bible being manipulated? What I’m talking about doesn’t come from the Bible.

I mention multiple religious texts, but the Bible is one of the best-known ones.
And since some of the earliest known writings were about myths, deities, etc., like the myth of Gilgamesh who was considered 1/3 human ands 2/3 god...

Oh, so, genetic engineering isn’t real?
