If we were really worried about spreading lies, every politician Twitter account would be locked. Lol at anyone who is too naive to see how it really is…….slo_ride.
By your definition everyone on all of social media should be banned. You get permanently suspended for telling despicable egregious lies trying to spread hate and divide people. Lies that have real life consequences. Lies that can cost people's lives. Not like she's on there saying she'll lower taxes with no plan to do so. She's a trumptard. A Trump puppet. An absolutely disgusting human being.

I don’t even know what she did or said to be honest. I’ve tuned it out. It’s the same story over and over from both sides.

"Twitter has permanently suspended Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's Twitter account @mtgreenee, the company confirmed to CNN Sunday morning.

A Twitter spokesperson said the company "permanently suspended" the account "for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy."

Greene, a right-wing Republican, most frequently tweeted from the handle @mtgreenee, which had more than 465,000 followers. She still has access to and can tweet from her official congressional account @RepMTG, which has more than 386,000 followers.

The Georgia lawmaker has a long history of embracing baseless conspiracy theories, and she has been a serial tweeter of false claims -- about the election, the Capitol insurrection and other subjects -- since she won her seat in November, 2020.

Twitter had previously temporarily restricted Greene's account for sharing misinformation about the 2020 presidential election and Covid-19.

Greene's ban comes almost a year after the platform banned former President Donald Trump in the wake of the deadly January 6 insurrection.

The tweet that prompted the permanent ban included a misleading graph purporting to show deaths related to Covid-19 vaccines, which Greene claimed have been ignored, according to a person familiar with Twitter's decision.

Americans are encouraged to submit details on adverse events following Covid-19 vaccination to the US Department of Health and Human Services' Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS. While many adverse events -- including deaths -- have been reported, very few have been causally linked to the vaccines. All Covid-19 vaccines available in the United States have been scientifically proven to be extremely safe and highly effective.

The tweet was sent at 1:46 p.m. ET on New Year's Day, according to a screenshot obtained by CNN.

According to Twitter's Covid-19 misinformation policy, users can receive a one-week suspension if they violate that policy four times. Violating the Covid-19 policy five or more times can result in a permanent ban.

Greene released a statement after the ban, part of which said: "Social media platforms can't stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big Tech can't stop the truth. Communist Democrats can't stop the truth. I stand with the truth and the people. We will overcome!" "

I still don’t see the tweet. There are graphs on the cdc website that show vaccine deaths. 10,000 deaths from the vaccine, but there are millions of people who took the vaccine, making it a lower death rate than the actual virus is I believe. Is someone claiming no one has ever died from the vaccine?

Twitter said on Sunday it permanently suspended the personal account of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) over the social media platform's COVID-19 misinformation policy.

The social network said in a statement that it took the action after "repeated violations" of the policy.

"We permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy. We've been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy," a Twitter spokesperson told The Hill in a statement.

In response to the suspension, Greene insisted in a statement published on Telegram that she was telling the truth.

"Twitter is an enemy to America and can't handle the truth," Greene said. "That's fine, I'll show America we don't need them and it's time to defeat our enemies."

Greene previously was suspended by Twitter several times for violating its COVID-19 misinformation policy.

In July, she received a 12-hour suspension from Twitter regarding two tweets she posted in which she falsely claimed COVID-19 was "not dangerous" for people who are under the age of 65 or not obese.

In August, her personal account was suspended for a week after she claimed that "these vaccines are failing and do not reduce the spread of the virus & neither do masks."

The COVID-19 vaccines have proved to be effective against severe infections. The disease is severe and deadly, especially among the elderly and the immunocompromised, and has repeatedly overwhelmed hospitals. More than 820,000 Americans have died from the infectious disease since the start of the pandemic, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to Twitter's COVID-19 misleading information policy, tweets that violate those rules would need to do several things: advance claims as facts, be knowingly misleading or inaccurate given existing information available, and have a potential to cause harm.

Twitter's policy bans users from sharing posts that are obviously misleading about COVID-19, such as the risk of infection or death from COVID-19, official regulations, or the safety of preventative measures.

The COVID-19 misinformation policy for Twitter, which employs a strike system for posts that violate the policy, says that after five or more strikes, the social media user faces permanent suspension of their account.

I don't have the tweet right now it's been deleted. You'll have to wait until I get done watching football and what not if you are to lazy to look it up yourself. I copy/pasted two articles. Look at her quotes. She's insane. She has no right representing a loony bin much less a state.

Meh. I don’t care if Twitter stopped existing tomorrow. Don’t bother.

Do she’s upset that she violated the policy of a private site multiple times, then got kicked off?
Sad that they won’t let her spread disinformation that can have a negative impact on public health and safety?

“Fvcking idiot” would be a great pejorative to assign her.
