No matter how you try to explain it...you're inserting your opinion as "fact" on a very subjective issue...nobody's challenge changes that...technical details have nothing to do with the end result of does the person hearing it believe it sounds better...it's like subwoofers some feel a bit of distortion adds warmth to the tone others prefer an absolute zero distortion signal...while the distortion free tone might be the more "perfect" tone...it'll sound like trash to anyone preferring the warmth...so what's best really comes down to the person hearing it...no matter what technical jargon you throw out to be "right"...
Please show us your the factual data that a mass-produced VHS tape is equal to or better than the master it was created from, even if the "master" in some way is a studio-grade analog tape.
Do not confuse personal preferences over factual data. A person may absolutely prefer the sound of a symphony played through a 3" speaker in a Bose table radio over the real symphony. That's a personal preference. it does NOT mean that the Bose playback is better than the original.
Some people may prefer FM radio that highly compresses and distorts music over the original which has a much wider dynamic range. That does not mean FM is "better".
Any distortion of the original is a compromise, even if you prefer that distortion over the original.
And for an idiot like Thxone to claim (without knowing a single thing about either system or the environment they exist in) that Jimi77's VHS copy of Terminator 2 will sound better than my DVD of the same movie, is just a moron talking out his @sshole.
Why would you even attempt to take his side on such a ludicrous claim? Seriously. You might as well back him up on his claim that being a homosexual is a choice, but you are "born with" heterosexuality.
