It dropped in the first months of the year. Up is in the direction of space. Down is in the direction of earth. When things drop, a visual representation shows them going in the direction of earth. When they spike, a visual representation shows them going in the direction of space.

A SPIKE in prices means they are RISING and doing so at a rapid rate. Put a marble at $2.62 (on the left if you can't find it) and let go. The marble falls. That is a DIP in prices, or a DROP,. It is NOT a "spike".

You defeated your own argument by including the same chart info that I provided, and then taking the extra step of circling the proof that prices FELL, not "spiked". Yet you still insist that this is a "spike" in January due to COVID (which wasn;t even detected in the US until February 2020).

Notice how it says "spikes to all time high in January 2021", and the line goes up REALLY fast in January 2021. They use the term spike to describe it going UP, not DOWN in early 2020 like prices did in your gas chart.

On my graph, how did it get that high at the beginning of the year. It was a spike that carried over from the end of 2019. In January 2020 COVID was declared a pandemic. People were already panicking and rushing to the store before it was declared a pandemic, people were rushing to get food and toilet paper. As the rush subsided, there was a decline in the need for fuel as people began locking themselves in their homes. Thus the downward trend in gas prices. THEN we come to what you were speaking on leading into mid-year.

Clearly you are the one who doesn't understand or comprehend. I don't know how many ways I can show you the PROOF you so greatly demand before you stop arguing like an idiot.
