Meh. I've seen plenty of people here with only a few dozen posts buy and sell stuff just fine. 200 posts is a lot for someone that is busy and doesn't care about being involved in a forum. They just want to sell. I had like 1,000 posts before my first sale, that doesn't make me any more qualified though. Yes, I do feel more comfortable if someone has a greater post count, but if they only have 80 posts and have 7 positive feedback, that will make me feel a lot more comfortable. If someone only has a couple posts and no feedback.... why WOULDN'T you be skeptical? No one is forcing you to buy from them, but you should know you're taking a big risk. Personally I'd ask if they have feedback from selling anywhere else. I get an address and a phone number. I take every protection to try to ensure my safety. Also, I'd ask if they could ship first, since I have established feedback, and they have none. I'd even be willing to pay another $10 for them to ship first.
Maybe that'd be a good "rule". People with under 200 posts have to ship first?
CACO has a rule that you can't post in classifieds unless you have 100 NON-TROLL posts elsewhere in the forum. So, that forced me to get involved in the forum if I wanted to sell there. Now of course you have to pay a subscription skam fee thing, so it doesn't really matter if you're a good or bad seller as long as they get their money.
I really don't see what is so difficult for you to take it upon your self as a buyer, to make sure the person you're buying from is reputable. Post count is the worst way to go about that. If they've been here for 2 months and don't have any positive feedback, you should KNOW the risk you're taking.
NO FEEDBACK, IT'S A RISK. It's up to you to take that risk, NO ONE is forcing you to buy it. If you have some positive feedback, maybe you could talk them into shipping first. I developed some buying feedback before I made my first sale. And I also had some people that I've met personally vouch for me. I did everything I could in my power, to help a potential buyer feel comfortable. I took detailed pictures of everything, took videos, and so on. Be a good judge of who you're buying from.
people that voted no either dont count becasue they are below 200 posts, or are scammers themselves.
Or have several thousand posts and plenty of positive feedback and think that there's a better way to go about it.
