At work the other day and cleaning up some stuff and found this giant compression horn. Looks like a replacement for the old base announcement system that we used to have here. If it is then this thing is incredibly loud. the motor is like 7-8 inches across alone. Anyone know who makes these or what kind of power these run? There are no markings on it other than what is on the bottom. Thinking about just selling it on here as I have no need for something that can get as loud as this thing. What is it worth? That is standard 8" by 11" paper next to it so you have a reference for the size of this thing.

that is a 1" NPT threaded JBL2425HS horn with a 1.75" Titanium/Diamond compression diaphragm...and yes, They is very loud and clear.

Seems pretty high but the reviews I read on it says that it is a top of the line driver. Thanks for the help, never would have guessed JBL. What do yall think a fair price for it would be?

That's awesome, I was expecting maybe like 20 bucks out of it. The diaphram alone on it is 129 new and looks like just the driver is 399 from speaker exchange. Good thing I snagged it before they threw it away

Looking around some more today and actually found the original box for the horn. It is actually a JBL model 3678-HF. I will take pics of the box when I get back to my room with it. This retails for around $550 new. And rated at 100w RMS at 1.2kHz and above. Pretty crazy for a horn. Anyone happen to have heard this particular model?

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna try to trade it. Get something around 200-250 for it. Hopefully it pays for the rest of my car stereo!

sell it for parts on ebay. I think I seem some whole speakers go for $3000 and up. they have that horn in them

Im always loking at classic JBL gear. I own 4312 control monitors. looking to build a custom made from jbl vintage gear. maybe even a sq car.

Thats the Army for you. If it isn't on a hand receipt and no one knows what it goes to, they throw it away. The Army isn't able to return unused products, they normally just throw it away in recycling. I just asked I could grab it and they said sure. I thought about hooking it up for fun. I don't feel like holding on to it till I get back to the states. I would rather sell it now to someone who will get full use out of it. I sure won't. Whoever buys it though I would like to see a vid of it hooked up and see what it can do. Anybody want it? I'll start it at $250. I'll create a for sale ad when I get back to my room tonight.
