what is this wood?

after i made my box, having the top be 1 inch too big, and the teenuts stripping inbetween the double baffle, I decided to buy a box because I was on a time limit...

well its very light, but it looks like mdf??? what could it be. I have the guy getting me another box, but he said it was mdf?

but if he said it was lighter, I'm inclined to think particleboard or LDF...

yea umm this guy at my local shop said he has "lighter" mdf. he said they use lighter glue?? i dunno haha maybe thats the LDF jack was taking about.
