what is the volume of this box

12-14-16 its for a 12in sub i have 2 of them i was wondering if i could cut out a rectangle port if so what should the size be any one know

1.56 ft^3. the port determines the frequency that your box is tuned to. you shouldn't just slice a port into the box. download WinISD and it will help you alot. http://www.linearteam.org

what do u do to figure out the volume of a box i know its height*width*depth ok i have a box with a slanted front the bottom depth is 14in the top is 10in ok i think that u add those together and then divide that would be 12in then u take that and 12d*16w*14h is that how u get the volume

you fid the area of the triangle and then add it to the area of your box. (L*W*H)/1728.

no offense but are you like in the 3rd grade or something cus i think thats when you learn how to do that stuff. I mean if it was round and weird shaped i'd understand.. its cool though i guess. no offense, i'm just kinda pissed right now

Since the box is already built I wouldent suggest cutting a slot vent in unless your a good carpenter. Id go with a port 3-4" Diameter, then use a program to find the port depth, for the tuning freq your looking for. ill tell you if I get around to doing it. New computer gotta get the program

What freq are yo looking to tune too.

For 35hz tuning which is where I would go its good daily driver tuning is 14.8" of 4"diameter port
