What is the secret?

How do people have subs that at lower volumes than mine can be heard very far away? What is the trick? I have a ported 10" mtx thunder 7500 and inside the car it sounds really loud, even with it so loud it hurts my ears when you are outside the bass doesnt even travel at all. what is the secret to having that clear bass that travels a long way while inside the car it isnt at some insane hearing-loss level?

In most cases, mulitple subs in some big *** boxes. I don't see a single 10 doing that, it just can't move enough air, and from what I've heard, MTX is only a "middle-class" brand of subs :/

However, if it's plenty loud in your truck, why do you need louder? Uncommon to popular belief, loud *** subs that shake other peoples trucks are very annoying...

Also your car may be more insulated than other cars. Some models of cars already add noise reducing materials in their vehicles to eliminate road noise. The sound staying inside of your car is a good thing. Most people spend endless time and money trying to accomplish this exact thing.

While I personally wouldn't reccomend these subs, a guy at school as two RF Punch P2 12"s in a vented box, and they get pretty **** loud. I personally think they sound kind of crappy, but they do get loud.

Lanzar subs, and a big Pyle or Boss mono amp. I am talking BIG! Get the one with the highest MAX pwer rating you can find. Don't forget MAX power.
