The Big 3 is adding large guage wire to the factory wiring.

1) Battery positive to alternator positive (optional to fuse it but reccommended)

2) Battery negative to chassis

3) Chassis to block

You just add new wire. Do not replace it. It helps give more surface area for the electrical to travel over, reducing voltage drops.

4awg will help but 1/0 helps the most. What size is your factory wiring? Generally just go up from factory so if your factory wiring is 8awg, 4awg will work but 1/0 would be better.

Im not sure what gauge wire the factory wire is but, Ill go with the1/0 ga. So dont replace factory, just add on?

the block is the "block" of the engine, there will be a wire that screws into the side of the engine somewhere and then attatches directly to the frame, usually red...

Yes, a braided wire is most common. Usually towards the back of the engine to the firewall.
