It seems like SA subs are geared more towards ported box use, although sealed should sound ok with the right tuning. On the bench the perform no worse than the Image Dynamics IDQ subs, which are great SQ subs. Between these two, I'd say for ported box.. I'd get SA. for sealed application, probably IDQ. The Dayton HF sub mentioned here is pretty good for SQ, good sensitivity, but low power handling and xmax. They're so cheap however, that I wouldn't mind using two of them (the 10 inch version, the 12 inch seems to require to big of a box for my liking, around 2cu ft)Thank you all for all the suggestions! I've ran into a problem though. As I read more and more reviews, it seems that the SA 12's are a majorly SPL sub, and my primary need is sound quality. I've been going back and forth between this sub and the Skar 12 inch sub, does anybody have experience with both? If so, which has more musical quality? Also should these subs be ported or sealed?
