What is good to use with..

Ok well im thinkin about getting a pair of 12" RE XXX or SE's ..but im not sure what kind of amp to get that is quality and can sufficiently power the subs. What is a good amp for around 400 that can do this?

well, there is a huge difference between SE and XXX...you will need 600 a piece for one and 1600 a piece for the other...which ones were you leaning towards more?

Not to mention they have different VC configs....which means you are going to need an amp that makes power into a different impedence depending on which sub setup you go with. If you went with dual XXX's, you'd need an amp that did power into 2ohm. If you went with dual SE's, you'd need an amp that did power into 1ohm or 4ohm.

Are you willing to dish out 2000+ watts for those XXX's. Is your car capable of keeping up? If you have the electical system and the money get the 2 XXX's and the Viper amp. That would be insane. To loud IMO.

doesn't the viper 2500.1 do something like 1200 watts rms at 4 ohms? it would still work wether he gets the se's or xxx's, but there still is a big difference in the 2 subs, and it seems odd to be deciding between these 2 particular subs.

for the price they are going for on ebay, they are as cheap as a lot of 1200 watt amps. also what if he decides to get bigger subs in the future if he decides to get se's? hell we don't even know if he is getting xxx or se's.
