Hey all, been a browser here for awhile. Hoping someone has some input -- or anything I can try, really -- to help fix my **** deck!
I have an iDA-X305 (not the Bluetooth model, the Bluetooth ready one)... every winter so far, the supplied cable stopped working. My guess was that it got too cold, rigid, and broke somewhere. Friggin' Canada. It would stop reading my iPhone and iPod (would work if you fiddled with it enough, but slowly even the success rate of this declined, until I'd only get "USB Device Error").
I replaced the cable again but this time I've had no luck. I've tried replacing with the identical cable, replacing with other Alpine USB cables. Had it into Best Buy, as my buddy works there, and he had no idea. We tried identical cables that worked with other HU's, but wouldn't work with mine. Just the same old error message.
It obviously recognizes that I'm plugging something it. I've reset the iPod, iPhone, enabled disk usage or whatever it is, reset the HU -- everything!
The weird thing is, it'll still read thumb drives.
Any suggestions on what this could be? A fuse? Wiring break?
Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!
