What is a "ricer"? OPINIONS NEEDED!

Just so to clear things up, he is taking the motor and going to bore it, stroke it, turbocharge it, new cam, nitrous, port and polished heads(i think), new pistons, and a whole bunch of other shit.
So no he is just not going to have cosmetic things done to it

I would have to say that because none of these modifications are done to the car as of yet, that it would qualify for the front of a Uncle Bens box. If you are driving it around with the mods you listed and have done zero or nearly zero performance mods then yes it is rice. Even with moderate performance mods I would most likely call it rice. Just depends on how tasteful the car looks. Post up some pictures...

Don't have the car done yet. I am completely rebuilding everything before it hits the road, so no one will see it until it has the motor completely rebuilt, turbo charged, all the other performance mods (suspension, etc.), and the interior complete (including sound system) and the body work done. I bought it as a project car, and it won't be leaving the shop until it is 100% finished.

AcidicDreams, the spoiler I am buying for the car is made for drag racing, and is completely adjustable so you can tune in the correct amount of downforce. It stands only 5" tall, not a monster spoiler that serves no purpose. Functional enough?

And don't say "When are you ever going to need that?", these cars are capable of over 140 mph completely stock, so with the extra displacement I will be getting and the forged internals the motor will be more than capable of reving high and the car will be able to travel even faster. Ever seen the video of a RX-7 running out in the salt flats? Didn't have enough downforce, and crashed, rolled several times. When it flipped it was traveling fast enough to tear all the body panels off the car, and the only thing that saved the driver was of course the rollcage.

And as far as the mods I have picked being pathetic, my new carbon fiber hood weighs around 10 lbs. and my stock one weighed 45 lbs. that seems like a pretty big difference to me. The only things that I am changing on the car are the body kit, the hood, the spoiler, and the paint. I don't see how that is going too crazy...

I realize that I asked for opinions, but I didn't ask for someone to call me out in such a rude way. I was under the impression I was going to get some constructive critisism. And if you are going to call me out lets see what you have done to that beautiful 95 4Runner... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The RX-7 is a rear-wheel-drive car, thus needing the spoiler at "very" high speeds to stabalize the car. Your eclipse should not have this problem as its front-wheel-drive.

I didn't read the last 6 pages, but do you understand what it takes to make a car stable at 200mph? aerodynamics plays a big role after 150 and an eclipse would need a ton of power, gearing that they don't have, suspension work, good underbody aerodynamics etc etc etc. If that statement was a joke please disregard my comment.
