football, definetely. west texas football; you can't beat it. ever heard of friday night lights? ya, thats my hometown. and the movie, FYI, is complete bullshit

Our Girls track team won IN-state finals every year i was at the school (2001-2005), they also won the year before i got there. They won five years in a row before being beaten by Warren central last year. That was about the only sport my highschool was good at. Track.

Definately football, although some good basketball players come from Oh. Definately the beest state for HS football alongside with Texas.

top 3 states for high school football in both attendance, nationally recognized teams and amount of players going into college from HS are Texas, California and Floriday. Those 3 states combined for 52% of recruits last year, that's scary.

ohio is NOT a basketball state, not to say we dont have any strong basketball HS programs around here, but everyone knows WE"RE a FOOTBALL state, look at all the pro's in the NFL from here!

FSU was your HIGHSCHOOL? LOL alot of people that go to free shoes university are not from florida actually. most fla residents go to UM, Florida, and FIU for some reason.

Well i guess football then, i wouldnt say in my area football would be the strongest sport even though there are a few teams that are decent, but every other cities in Ohio seem to have a strong football team in HS,mainly up north where your from. I believe Colerain in cincinnati was like ranked in the nation pretty high.

No, but FSU has a huge influence on the Track programs of high schools. Hosting College/High School meets and what not. Florida also has some of the fastest runners (wether or not this is atributed to the latino population is another argument). People dont go crazy about it...florida just produces fast runners. Only runners that are faster than florida runners are runners from areas like colorado. But they have the advantage of altitude and hills for training. Than agian, we have hell-like heat and air so thick you can hardly breathe it as well as sandy beaches for training.
