What Head Unit Volume for DMM Tuning my amp? (Kenwood KDC-MP205)

we can't answer this question until we know how you are using it.

the answer is different if you are using the HU to power speakers and just amping a sub, or if you have amps for speakers and subs.

3/4 vol is the typical response - but if you are powering interior speakers that may be an unlistenable volume level due to HU distortion.

The HU will be powering the speakers (I havent upgraded them yet so they are all stock), this is going to be a completely new install so I don't know how loud is to loud with this hu.. I guess I will set to 3/4 and if it is to loud, il re-tune

start by figuring out how loud you want to play the interior speakers. find the point of distortion for the speakers, note that volume level - and use it to set gains. then adjust the sub amp from there to blend with the speakers.

having external amplifiers for speakers allows for better level tuning.
