What Flavor is Dr. Pepper?

BTW, they wouldn't be paying Coke or Pepsi ...
Coke, Pepsi, and Others make drinks, package them, and sell them to a distributor. The distributor is able to pick and choose which to carry. The distributor then sells the products to the retailer. The retailer, however, may have a contract with Coca-Cola or Pepsi which prevents him from selling the competition's drinks. However, since the clause is usually specific only to Coca-Cola or Pepsi drinks, the retailer can usually bring in drinks from 3rd party companies, such as Cadbury-Schweppes, without violation.
im lost...cause when my boss makes a pepsi order, he calls pepsi bottleing co. i know he does for a fact. and i assume the same of coke cause when the coke order comes in it comes in a hugeass semi that says COKEE real big on it. so that would mean the dr pep is coming from the coke factory

yes i read your post. but what i was saying is that it seems like coke partially ownes them cause dr. pep is only found with coke products (at least round here)
Then you didn't read it very carefully, nor are you learning from reading. Start from the beginning and do it again. Slowly.

That doesn't mean it's coming from Coke. You don't know for a fact. I worked in a grocery store this past summer and you never order from Coke, or Pepsi, or wherever. You order from a distributor who has a contract with Coke or Pepsi or whatever. It comes from the same distributor or possibly bottler, but that does not mean that there's an ownership link. It means there's a business link or whatever but that, again, is not necessarily related to Coke or Pepsi or whatever.

Hawaiian punch rules the world

Schweppes raspberry ( or it strawberry ?) ginger ale also rules the world.

DP is alright, Pibb isnt much better.

Cherry coke tastes nothing like DP

DP is distributed by coke vendors here.

Pepsi is smooth and goes down nice

Coke burns when it goes down. It has "bite"

Diet coke is for old old people or stupid girls who are on a diet.

Diet coke caffene free is disgusting, along with diet coke.

Anything with an artificial sweetner in it tastes nasty

Big red is the weirdest tasting soda pop but i like it.

Just cause i read it doesnt mean i take your word, dumbass

i Do know for a FACT that my boss orders directly from pepsi. you cant argue with me here.

You can start calling people "dumbass" if/when your IQ ever increases to what is considered an average intelligence ...
well whats my IQ jmac? cause i never even taken the test b4. and i only called him that cause 1. he was already an asshat by starting the fat BS with me and 2. he thinks hes right cause he "worked at a grocery store". well i work at a steak & hoagie place where i actually KNOW my boss and talk to him all the freaking time. and when he decided to start selling pepsi, he told me that he orders direct. and ive seen the pepsi sales reps come in too

We had pepsi reps come in as well... it's still done through a distributor. Those people are employed by a distributor and bottling company, not owned by Pepsi or Coke, but licensed by them.

Btw - the fat thing... lookit your name, (fat)asshat.

"In 1986 the Dr Pepper company merged with the Seven Up Comany to for Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Corporation which was later acquired, in 1995, by Cadbury Schweppes plc. It would become the largest operating division of the non-cola beverages form, Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc."

That was directly from the Dr Pepper website.

i think everyone should have to go to the coke museum once in their llife, its located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. they have one drink there that u literally have to hold ur nose to drink it. i wanna say its a german product.

OK as for ordering direct or through a distributor it depends on wher eint he **** country you are. You can technically order from both in a sense depending on how "important" you want to make yourself sound. I know for a fact this applies to canada.

Most ordering is done throguh a call center setup to take the order. So when you call and they answer they phone they say "Pepsi blah blah" The local bottling plant was a main Pepsi plant but it was actually registered as "Cassidys Beverages" They did not take calls nor did pepsi head office take calls. The call center took the orders, sent the orders into the bottling plant (That in turn owned the "PEPSI" trucks) then they went to the store that ordered.

However is some areas there will be a distributor that would pick up 7up and the pepsi products, maybe some chocolate bar companies and candy companies. you call them place your order, THEY call the pepsi call center and place their orders, the delivery shows up in a "PEPSI" truck.

It really isnt that hard to understand. all bills will have pepsi on them, all trucks, all uniforms. If you want to carry a big name such as pepsi or coke you have to follow what they want as part of their contract. No different then mostly all big chain stores have all the same uniforms, product promotions and trucks that bring in merchandise.

where did i say it was definatly owned by coke? i said it SEEMS like its partially owned by coke. jeez, cant u guys read

Dr. Pepper is......Dr. Pepper flavored. It isn't supposed to compete with Cherry Coke or any other Cherry anything. It is what it is. It's been around heaps longer than any pre-bottled cherry-flavored variety of anything. (I specify pre-bottled because back in the day when 'Soda Fountains' were in durn near every general store, drugstore, whatever across the country you could get most any flavor you wanted added to a soft drink. You think Coca-Cola themselves were the first people to think up Vanilla Coke? Not even close. Been around longer than I have.

Personally I don't care what it is supposed to taste like or who owns 'em. I like Mt. Dew. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

On a side note ~ you ought to see all the flavors of Shweppes available here that I've never seen stateside! Cadbury-Shweppes is HUGE over here. More varieties of Cadbury candy bars (not a single nasty-*** egg to be seen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) than you could imagine and two dozen different flavors of soft drink. It's a bit surreal.
