what first got you hooked on car audio? (

What got me hooked was when my bro's neighbor came pulling up into his drive way just wangin' away in his low rider nissan hard body with the camper shell to match sittin on Daytons. He let us look inside to see what we heard, and he had walled the the bed with 6 (15") Kicker Comps. That was 15 years ago, and he still has the truck, but with a different setup.

Unfortunately, like any other immature teen, I was drawn by the boom. I was on Vacation with parents, probably about 14 I think it was. laying on the causeway beach at Howard Franklin park in Tarpon Springs. I heard and felt rumbling from a distance and asked my dad what the hell that was and his reply was something to this effect "it's some inconsiderate ******* with a stereo bigger than his brains". It was a 3rd gen TA. As it got closer and the music became more distinguishable and pounded the ground like a ****ing gorilla, I watched it in awe. Then when I was nearing 16 I knew my car was gonna have the boom, so I started hanging out at local audio boutiques and conversed with owners and installers. The rest is history.

this guy with a red rodeo. At first i thought he had 4 cerwin vega stroker 12s but talking to a view people that knew him, they said his subs had a red ring. So im guessing it was the vega series. Either way, it was loud as hell.

Now what drives me is seeing all these guys riding around in my city with systems and they think they are the ****. Its one shop i visit quite frequently, he always hold like sound shows. When someone thinks they got a nice system, he calls up someone who he think is louder and they just go for a spl shoot out. Not metered though. Its pretty fun. Since my death penatly install, he still say he hasnt heard anyone come near me yet. Kinda sad.

I met a fella via the CB who I ended up becoming good friends with....at the time he had a mid-to-late-80s VW Fox coupe.

Said VW had the backseat removed due to having a "Pac-Man" wall with four RF (can't remember which series) 15s driven by an oldschool HiFonics amp.

A Yamaha HU with Yamaha amplification on an MBQ front stage finished it out.

At the time it was both the loudest and the cleanest car audio I had ever heard and I wanted some! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
