what does the "Defeat" mean on alpine HU

for all those for new alpine HU's....what does the setting "Defeat" mean. i searched the manual and online coudnt find anything.

Yep, according to page 13 of the manual(as indicated on the contents page),

"By setting Defeat On, previously adjusted settings of Bass and Treble will return to the factory defaults and BBE is turned off."

that's it.. it's good to see how you're equalization has progressed compared to the stock config

it's also good to use test tones or tracks that doesn't require equalization

oh it's also good to set your gains up
