What does the illumination wire go to in my old *** car?

What should i hook the illum wire up to in my 81 pontiac to make the green buttons come up on my pioneer hu? Switched 12v im thinking?

Some cars do not have a illumination wire to connect to I have done a few of them dont worry just wrap it up with electrical tape and forget about it. The illumination wire doesn't light up the radio it just dims the light when the light are turned on. No big deal.

If you want to use it, just tie it into the parking light wire. Should be a brown wire at the back of the headlight switch, or in the DKP.

Yea i have it hooked up to a pink wire (had no idea what it was when i hooked it up, but the illum wire, and the pink wire from my car were the only 2 wires left so i hooked them together //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Anyway i guess thats the parking light wire cuz it does dim when i turn my lights on. I dont have the p4000 anymore but i remember when i had it it didnt have any green illumination on it, and ones ive seen on websites have green buttons? The model im upgrading to has the green buttons to so i wanna make sure i hook everything up right so they work this time. Not using a wire harness in the car btw, everything is hardwired
