I just bought a Lightning Audio 900watt amplifier and two 12" Sony XPLODE's.. how do you think this will sound coming from one 12" sub and a Jensen 400watt amp?
should be an ok entry level setup. im not fond of sony at all, and never had experience with LA but you wont find much support for the sonys on this forum...
I had sonys be4 and the only reason i would say that it would be good is for starters and if you basically got them for free. But i gess its a good temporary set up for now. giving their rms should be alrite as long as they dont blow which they do all the time
spend alittle more money and build a ported box and some good subs..and a sweet amp and u will be very happy..atleast alot happier then what u will be with this new system
Changing to a ported box will do about the same as doubling your power or adding another sub...so yes, it could be very worth it to fiddle with the enclosure specs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Hey, I'm a college student...I know what it's like to live off Ramen, water, and cold pizza for weeks on end so you can afford these toys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
And since I know what that's like, I can tell you...going to a ported enclosure (shouldn't cost more than the price of an MDF sheet or two, plus screws and misc. hardware if you don't have them) is going to be the best bang-for-the-buck option out there. Cheaper than going the more sub/more power option.
