i have 2 alpine type r 15s in a 3 cuft box each chamber tuned to 32. i just want 2 12s that will be louder than these. i have a hifonics bxi2610 powering them and i have 6 cuft to work with. any ideas?

I had basically the same setup only diffrence was my amp was a hifonics 1500d but i just upgraded from the alpines and the hfi1500d to 2 12 Re audio Mx subs and a hifonics 2500d

What kind of gain are you looking to see? Higher tl score? Better low end?

2 12" DC Level 4's will do the job just fine. You could also do a single 15 or even an 18 in that airspace (18 will be kinda squeezed though if that's 6 cubes gross). What's your budget

What exactly are you trying to accomlpish? Besides louder? Are the 15s not loud enough? If so look for other 15s instead of twelves. N if you really want some twelves i'd go with some sa, or obsidian, skar, cvx,ssa (pricey twelves)--->, dd 9215, dc audio, fi btl

Were your type R's wired to 1 ohm? Since you are loosing cone area, you'll need to add power. Is your electrical able to keep up with your current amp?

yeah they r at 1 ohm..i just want 12s because this box is to big for the trunk and the subs are up and port back. i had to build this box in the trunk.

In that airspace and off that power I would do something like a single 15" Fi BTL N2, in a custom ported box of course.
