I have two alpine type R subs in my car(300W rms) and i'm runnig a shity 760W sony xplode amp to them. i was thinking of upgrading to the alpine MRV 1507 amp or something else. my question is what amp should i use? I'm also have the alpine 7878 head unit in my car.

There are several different good brands. It is up to what you want to spend. I would however suggest a class D sub amp. They are hella efficient. And your alternator will thank you for it.
