I just saw this at walmart for 300 (CAN) and was wondering if it would be worth it. I dont have a huge system, just stock and a single sub. And it would be nice to have video capabilities in the car for the gf when we go on trips....

Any feedback? How hard would it be to put in my car? (2007 Ion) without tearing apart the interior of the car?

eh don't get it just to have a screen it won't be worth it it's not worth 300 dual is SHIT if you can afford a 2007 ion you could save a lil more for a screen

I think Dual is the modern-day Roadmaster.

Ok. thanks for the heads-up. And i just read the manual. The **** thing doesnt even work unless the car is parked with the parkbrake on. How f***in stupid is that. Why the F*** would you have a DVD unit in your car unless you wanted to watch movies.... what the hell were they thinking when they added that feature. If your too stupid of a driver to watch the screen instead of the ROAD then you shouldnt be driving and deserve to crash and get crippled. Just my little rant

um, you can get in trouble in most states for having video playing in the front of the car. (or drivers view)

also the company's can get sued big time for not having that safty feature in their HU's

so stay with stock HU or save a bit to get a good double-DIN DVD HU that works when im actually driving.

As far as I know ALL in-dash DVD players have a lockout to where they will not play movies if the car isn't in Park (if auto ******) or if the parking brake is not engaged if a manual ******.

I would assume that the Dual unit, like all others, has a workaround to defeat said lockout.

Nobody makes them to work while driving. You have to bypass them.
