what do u use to encode wav to mp3?

i use to use nero to encode my wav files to mp3 but it wont let me encode any more cuz the mp3 encoder that came wiht my nero was only a trial deal.. so anyone know any freeware mp3 encoders that encode fairly fast with excellent quality???

audacity is the name of the program and you MUST d/l the lame software to go with it. no limits...easy to use .. google "AUDACITY" file will be right on top...your welcome.

i went with audiograbber with the lame codec.. i remember audiograbber from the late 90's
