What digicam do u use and y?

I use a Pentax Optio W10 and it's one of my favorite purchases all the time. 6mp, WATERPROOF, DUSTPROOF, takes awesome pictures, takes 640x480 movies at 30fps for as long as your memory card has storage, and it's slim enough to put in any pocket. I love this camera so much, i could never buy another. I love taking it to my friends' lakes and pools and getting pictures in the water and underwater movies. And i can drop it in mud, sand, flour, ANYTHING, and just rinse it off. Friends spill beer on it and i don't care. I use the **** thing every day, capturing the best days of my life (college summers!).

I have a Canon 300D and want to upgrade to the discontinued 20D. I got it for the low light theatre shots and dance convention pics but also like the ability to change what glass I am using depending on how fast the action is or how low the light is. It is a professional amateur camera and for the price I got it for, it works well for what I use it for.

get a camera that dosent have vibration control or whatever you call it

i hate camera that dont show flex because they have "better" built in features that dont show that, and u just have to watch a video and pretend everything the guy taping is flexing but it dosent show it in the shot

seeing as how i sell these things and enjoy playing with my camera, heres a few good ones. it just depends on how much you want to spend

kodak v570 is what i use. it has 2 lenses also has a 5x optical zoom. only downside is that if you use regular non-high speed memory the battery life and camera performance sucks. so high speed is needed with this bad boy. also, its small you can fit it into your shirt pocket. its like 350ish..5mp

panasonix fx8 for the win also, optical image stabilizer for the WIN!

Also some good choices:

Casio Exilim series

Canon Powershot SD550

Nikon Coolpix S6/S5

Nikon Coolpix P4 = optical image stabilizer but around 400.00

make sure your camera uses proprietary batterys, in my experience they are alot better performing and last alot longer too.

what size camera (physically) did you have in mind?

if size isn't a concern- the canon powershot S2IS is your friend, 12x zoom with image stabelizer..................yummage!

im a nerd about cameras sry

image stabilization is what you DO NOT WANT... NO FLEX VIDS whatsoever with that BS... i took a video of my rearview with my friends camera one time, in person, the thing was rattling to hell, everywhere you could possibly imagine, up and down and everything, and then i check out the video 10 minutes later and it looks like its standing still and not even moving.. pos's

I use a canon sd450 and I'm pretty happy with it. Has some slightly advanced features. I'm obviously no professional photographer, but it does give you some room to adjust a few things. I wish the digital zoom was of better quality though.

If you're looking into getting a new camera, I highly recommend canon. From personal experience, I would avoid sony like the plague.
