i have 2 kicker L5 10s and a RF 600.1bd that i have been running in a 1.5 cu.ft. per sub slot port tuned to 36. today i decided to go to a .77 cu.ft. sealed box to save some space in my hatch. i was expecting to lose some output but instead it is now louder than before and sounds better too! i am not complaining but wtf?

your box may not have been what you thought

that could be, but i think i just found out why this happened. i pulled out my dmm and discovered i now have more battery voltage than before. used to when the bass hit it would go down to 12.9 to 13.1 volts. now the lowest voltage i saw in about 5 min. of hard play was 13.85 and most of the time it was above 14. so now i have more amp headroom than before. i guess less impedence rise due to the sealed box.
