What can I expect out of Eclipse Titanium subs?

These subs worth the hype?

I am thinking of getting 1 12" SW9122 Eclipse Titanium powered by a Planet Audio P850d.

I don't want something that is over bearing for every day use, but something that will hit pretty good when I want it too.

If I decide to go with this sub, I plan on building a 3cubic foot sealed enclosure....hopefully that's just right for this sub!

They have this sub and the planet audio amp on sale here for $650.00!!!!

i think that 3 cubes will be too much room for that particular sub sealed..

around 1-1.5 cubes is what i think i remember hearing to put that sub in.. Talk to Denim, he loves Eclipse and i'm sure that he will have an answer for you.

Well hell, maybe that guy I talked to doesn't know what he is talking about. It's the local authorized dealer here for Eclipse, and he said anywhere from 2.5-3.0?

Here are some of the specs cut and pasted from Eclipse's website..notice where it says "small sealed box enclosure." I would say 2.5-3 cubes is too big. I heard 2 titanium 12s off a BD1000 in a Durango that the shop did last summer, and it got more than loud enough for me, and it sounded great. If you want to get more detailed info on a box, call Eclipse tech support. They have always been very helpful to me whenever I have called(1-800-233-2216)

X-max is how far the sub moves from peak to peak, from as far out as it can go to as far in. And 1.5" is a LONG **** way, the XXX is "only" 32 mm, which is one of the longest throws out there. For example the 2000$ brahma extreme has 56mm of x-max.

Well, it's "possible", but probably not likely...when i went to hear them he had 1 12" hooked up to a 1000+ watt Planet Audio amp, and those speakers were defintely moving...quite a bit more than the W7 JL Audio's.
