I have a broken mid range and tweeter. Fanaticq 100w rms.
The one side is blown while the other is alright. The speakers were hooked up to the crossover right but the crossover was hooked up in reverse. Could that blow them? Isn't that what the reverse polarity swittch does for the tweeter?
The tweeter puts out barely any sound and it is not full. The 5.25" works alright till mid volume and then starts to make that buzz noise you always hear on crappy speakers. What is that sound called? distortion? clipping?
Did the amp mess up these speakers or maybe the head unit. Only the one side is bad and I switch things around to see if it was something other then those 2 speakers, but they are bad?
But why? I want to try and repair it. It is a bad wire? Has any one done this?
Please help,
Dave
