What brand?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but people's minds change all the time. What brand (OUT OF ONLY THE ONE'S YOU HAVE USED!) would be your most 'favorite', and would be most likely to suggest to others? I'm a huge DD fan, or should I say DD boner *****? BUT, I have yet to use my 1008's, so I can't suggest them. Out of subwoofers, I would definitely suggest Hifonics for subs, for comparison on this, I have used Rockford Fosagate, Pioneer, and MA Audio. For amps, I've used Splash (Old school), Lanzar, and Rockford Fosgate. Out of them, I would suggest Splash, if they were still around and readily available, but since they're not, I'll definately suggest Rockford, as they are solid amps, and compared to Lanzar they're just better for the cost. Wiring, I'll definitely suggest KnuKonceptz, as they have a great price, and definitely great quality. Headunits, would be Pioneer, all I've used are Pioneer and Dual, so that's out of the question. For speakers, I would say Hypnotics, 'cause all I have used is Pioneer (Great for the price.) and Lightning Audio 6x9's (They were amazingly loud, but the quality wasn't the best.) So, what would you suggest?

Yeah, I had the same thing. I didn't like the purple either, I put some cheap tint from walmart on mine, and it looked great. Of course, at the time I was driving a unibody car, and didn't know that I needed to run a ground from the battery for it too ground and not get so hot, so that tint didn't work too long. I had mine running 2 Pioneer subs, and it made them pound, until the voice coils burnt up (was clipping the signal, extremely hard.......)

Buddy of mine runs and old splash "neon" amp. Works ok but the purple neon isn't for me...

For the price, if someone doesn't have too much money, would you suggest Hertz? I've never seen their prices, but I know the higher line speakers can get pricey.

out of the hundreds of subs ive tested out, prob my favorite one (by meaning favorite, took the most abuse and stupid amounts of power and price wasnt a consideration) was the Massive Audio DMX 15's

Prob my 2nd in line is Stereo Integrity Mag's, followed by RD Audio SHW's

Subs that I didnt like (in order of hatred) : TC Sounds, Digital Designs, RE MT, MTX 9500, L7's

Now that isnt to say the brands I disliked arent good for some people and applications, but I suppose that re-affirms that every install is speicific and results vary from person to person.

I dont have too much money. But im SO glad i saved up and got them. PM me, and i can give you some of their prices, and references on where to buy.

subs used: sony, dual, type r, fi Q, and SI mag = Mag is #1 with Q close behind

amps: sony, pyramid, lanzar (opti line), usamps, and sundown = sundown period

speakers ive only had rainbow and well ya rainbow it is

i dont know about everyone else but my car audio has been a progression from horrible stuff to good stuff so obviously what im running now is going to be my favorite....then you got the people here who have tested 100's of subs and amps.

I know what you mean. My stereo I got now, is the most I have ever spent on any stereo. I haven't had the greatest, but have been pleased with what I have had so far. I think the worst thing I have had to date would be the Lanzar Vibe 226 I had.

Being an SPL guy, you really surprised me when you said you disliked DD and the RE MT. I've heard only good things about them. What exactly influenced the decision of the Massive Audio DMX to be your favorite?

Concerning the DD and MT's.... I really dont consider either worth the price considering the poor materials both are made out of. Im sure some people will have kittens from me making that statement, but thats my opinion based on the hundreds of subs ive used over the past 12 years.

I competed for an entire year with a single DMX 15 quad coil...it took stupid amounts of abuse and I didnt even kill it in the end - it was sold to a member here on this forum. It an extremely well made sub from the thick foam surround to the carbon fiber woven cone. I dumped stupid amounts of power into it and it never really complained. Plus, if you ever do crispy the sub, you can just recone it without any glue - it has a drop in cone assembly.

Here is an old video of when I used Massive subs in 2005. I broke my first 150 with one DMX 15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
