what amp for L7s

what kind of amp should i get for some kicker L7s. i was thinking about getting the 4 ohm versions and wiring them up so that i get a 1 ohm load. but i dont know if i should put them in two seperate boxes(one in each) or both in one box. or should i get the 2 ohm versions and wire one amp to each? should the amp be a mono amp or a 2 channel amp?

First of all, you can not wire 2 DVC 4 ohm drivers to a 2 ohm mono load. You can however wire them to 4 ohms and 1 ohm, 1 ohm is the optimum choice here because it is easier to find an amplifier that puts out its highest RMS power at 1 ohm rather than 4, and less costly.

What is your budget for an amp? I have a Planet Audio PA-2250D that will do 2250w @ 1 ohm, PM me if interested.

I was refering to single 4ohm subs.

to a mono amp give it less power? isince it is a one channle amp wont it blow something?

It will only blow if you run it lower than it's stability.For instance my earthquake amp is one channel.500w rms into 4 ohms or 1000w rms into 2 ohms.Man it ****in pounds so hard,way better than my audiobahn amp I sold.

get 2 L7's that are dual 4 ohm and wire them to a 1 ohm load. diagrams can be found in a sticky in the wire forum. get an amp that does 1200-1500 watts rms at 1 ohm. make sure to read the gain tutorial in the amp forum
