Running a 1 gauge from my battery to the trunk to a DISTRO. Splitting two 4 gauge wires to each amp that i have. Someone was telling me i "need" to fuse the 4 gauge wires that are being splitted. If i dont it can concur a FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

lol.

but yeah what kind of ANL Fuse do will i need for my 4 gauge wires? i am looking to buy 2 of them.

formula for figuring out current is Power Divided by Voltage so each 4 gauge will be going to an amplifier i am guessing so how many watts is each amplifier? take that number and divide by 12 (because cars run on a 12 vdc electrical system) and that will give you the ammount of current on each wire. and that will also tell you waht size fuse to put on each wire.

Example 1200 watt amplifier

1200/12=100 meaning that would need a 100 amp fuse.
