What albums do you like to sit and listen to the whole thing?

Joe Budden- Mood Muzik 2 and 3

Yo Gotti - Cocain Muzik

Clipse - Lord Willin

Jay-Z - The Black Album

J.R. Writer - All the writers block

Weird Al - Running with Scissors

Audioslave - All

Velvet Revolver - Contraband (kinda sux now but I use to love it)

Lots more I listen to everything but emo music, I have a long commute to work and have my Ipod on at all times so I have lots of listening time

That is one nice vinyl collection.
Thank you very much! I appreciate it. It represents a +30 year quest to find interesting music.

I guess I should mention that all records aren't created equal ... by a longshot. The recordings in the shelves are mint and most are first pressings. You can see a VPI wet/vacuum record cleaning machine in the right-hand corner, and one of the speakers on the left. Its size makes it look like the pic is cropped.

Oh and like Joe asked, what are you playing them on??

I can't listen to any rap albums all the way through since there's too much retarded BS in most of them...
You are a much better person than I because I can't listen to a modern rap SONG through to the end. In fact, commercial rap (cRap) is the main reason I stopped DJing. I got tired of seeing dumb *** white kids, making up stupid *** dances, to go with silly *** rap songs like "Watch my shoes", "Cyclone", "Low", anything by Lil Wayne, and I could go on forever.

I don't have anything that nice. I spin my vinyl on a Dual 506 with an ortofon RED cartridge and a Technics SL-2000 with a Sonus Black cartridge. I amp those through an H.H. Scott 340-B full tube receiver and Polk Monitor 10A's. It's a good system and fits my needs. My receiver is from 1963 and is all original, very well taken care of by my grandfather who gave it to me.

Sorry, I don't feel comfortable posting pics of such an expensive system. It makes me feel uncomfortable, like posting pics of my cars. No offence, really. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No problem, but it probably takes 4 people to move a turntable like that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That sounds like a fun system! :boobies:

If you don't mind my asking, when was the last time the tubes were changed? FWIW, I have some older gear, myself - mostly radios, but some small tube amps, as well.

BTW, how were your 'tables setup? Which protractor did you use for cartridge alignment?

If I remember correctly, the tubes were replaced when my grandfather put it into storage. I had them tested and they all seem fine.

I brought my receiver and tables to a place called audio lab in cambridge MA. Had the amp checked over and the tables set up professionally. Didn't trust myself LOL.

I love the warmer sound of the tubes over solid state.

If I may, I'd strongly suggest replacing all tubes, including the rectifier. I bet that you'll be very surprised by the increase in FR, dynamics, and transparency. Good luck! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
