What a joke

One of these days, when I have more time, I am really going to cut loose on the moderators. I am going to call each one of them out in seperate threads (going in alphabetical order of course).

I am going to say hateful, hurtful things too. For instance, I might say:

"I don't like Mike."

"Jnatar couldn't moderate his self out of a wet paper bag."

"Squeak is Richard Clark's love child."

I have more, but you get the idea.

Snaps x2!

if someone is selling an item useing false imformation to get a better price, everyone has the right to be informed of the mis imformation, pms are private, imformation needs to be public.

I don't disagree, but I think that a pm should be the first step. The seller may honestly believe that what they are saying is correct. Give them an opportunity to correct themslves. Also, I am sure that the moderators are concerned that if they do not have a zero tolerance policy it will get out of control and you will start having arguments over opinions in the classifieds. Even when you are talking about objective facts, sooner or later the correcting party is going to be wrong. Take the instant case, I assume the OP in this thread was correct, but I don't know that for sure.

I am not putting the OP down for what he did. I am just saying that there is another way of looking at it.

This goes for anyone - if you see an ad with blatant problems, PM the seller. If they ignore you, report the post to a moderator with your complaints. Starting shitfests in the ads don't do any good.
ok, so, Lets look at it this way.

You pm'd the seller about the mistake and now you are waiting for the seller to change the description or waiting for them to return your pm. Now, how long do you wait? what is a reasonable amount of time? what if the seller does not read your pm?

In the time you are waiting the seller may have sold the item and gotten money for it. The buyer is screwed and you are still waiting on the returned pm. therefore rendering the orignal pm to the seller useless and nullified.

What is wrong with posting, and letting to become public that there is misinformation in the description?

You say the seller may not have know that there was a error or he did not know it was a false statment? Then by makeing it public that the description is wrong, you are in turn helping the buyers and seller.

I am unable to comprehend why the OP of this thread is at fault.

Please enlighten me.

Unfathomable.

wow not closed yet?

i'd have to say i agree, public knowledge, if the seller is wrong, it's not hurting his sale for him to say, oh i was mistaken, here is what i did wrong and now i'm fixing it. makes the seller look like a stand up kind of guy.

how does this hurt his thread?

What are you looking to get out of this?
Do I think the seller was in the wrong? Yes...do I think you handled it the right way? No...

I tried being reasonable in my first post showing him what a denonford was and then he got pissy with me instead of accepting the facts. I will maintain my position that the PUBLIC has a right to know any misinformation found in a sale. Whether honest mistake or not. If I get banned of it in the future then so be it.
