In all seriousness, I didn't see the post but agree with OP. If he said,

"Are you sure yours is made by xxx, because from my information it is made by yyy" Here is my reference for my informtation. I think that is okay.

If he said "You F-in scammer I hope you die, you trying to scam I come to your house and slit your throat" then that is not okay.

The PM, then wait on a mod is a slow process as I have seen some items purchased within minutes of being posted. The market/classifieds works on the basis of trust. If we can't trust that someone will point out such transgressions, how can we trust the classifieds?

I tried being reasonable in my first post showing him what a denonford was and then he got pissy with me instead of accepting the facts. I will maintain my position that the PUBLIC has a right to know any misinformation found in a sale. Whether honest mistake or not. If I get banned of it in the future then so be it.

I understand where you are coming from. It was his thread however so you were the one post dumping. He is incorrect in selling that unit if he claims it was made by Denford. He however worded it where it was designed by them, not made by them...therefor you nor I can prove otherwise.

Like I said earlier, please PM them then PM one of us. Do it at the same time if need be. Just dont invate the thread in the hopes to inform. It rarely stays clean, hence your posts getting deleted.

ok, so, Lets look at it this way.
You pm'd the seller about the mistake and now you are waiting for the seller to change the description or waiting for them to return your pm. Now, how long do you wait? what is a reasonable amount of time? what if the seller does not read your pm?

I give people about a day to reply to PM's, if they check the forum regularly. If there wasn't a reply in a day or so, I'd go ahead and report the post...or would have already done it.

In the time you are waiting the seller may have sold the item and gotten money for it. The buyer is screwed and you are still waiting on the returned pm. therefore rendering the orignal pm to the seller useless and nullified.

Where does buyer beware come into this? At some point, it's the buyer's responsibility to know what they're purchasing...

What is wrong with posting, and letting to become public that there is misinformation in the description?

Because people here are too stupid to know when to let it stop. If we had a more intelligent base of users, OK. But very few people here can remain civil...hence the draconian rules.

I can somewhat see where you're coming from and how you view it. I just personally feel PM process is too slow to alert to a possible fraudelent listing. I can also see how herd mentality can also hurt a FS thread, especially when the OP gets defensive about being corrected. In the end I will just have to settle for YOUR way.
