what a douchbag

ok i'm trying to sell a 250 amp alt

"here is waht he said

I'd like to point out that is WAY over the top on needs, and you can get a CUSTOM brand new 160 amp alternator for less money. We're finishing a group buy right now for them.

I'm pointing this fact out simply for the purpose of a little price correction, and the potential for problems down the road. 250 amps is way more than any car here would ever need. My personal opinion is this isn't going to be good for any battery.

Buyer beware, there may be issues down the road."

sorry didnt realize you couldn't view it as a guest

heres the rest

Me

"thank you for dumping on my thread

and for your information when you have an SPL setup in your car or any stereo for that mater it is a good idea to have something that can keep up with the added load of the amplifiers

and considering the stock alt is 140 amps the extra 20 won't help that much if your pulling an extra 100 amps or in my case 300 amps

and no there wouldn't be any issues down the road"

"I'm an Administrator of this Forum, and my responsibilities include keeping an eye out for overpriced components for the Member's benefit. The buyer over the seller.

We have some pretty kicking systems on this Forum (hard to imagine, eh?) and most of them are running on stock alternators. The highest amperage alternator ever installed here was a 200-amp alt, custom built by the same source we get ours from. That alt was overkill as well.

Your price is OVER what those alternators cost new. I suggest you drop your price.

Me

"well thats your opinion considering your talking about a group buy yeah it will be less

however i paid a bit more for mine and 250.00 is my price at the moment

and i guess your wrong on the biggest alt being 200 amps considering i have been running a 250 amp alt for about 9 months now with no problems and i never said that this was an alt for your everyday ma and pop Bonneville i drove the car 100 miles a day and did Meca competitions with it so there is a need for it, obviously not in your car

And considering this is a Bonneville themed Forum and this is a Bonneville alternator i figured i might have a better chance at selling it here"

Him

"You are more than welcome to try to sell it here, but if a member of the Staff of this Forum thinks a price check or warning needs to be posted, it will be. I won't take kindly to you dishing out flak if you don't like it when I do the job that's expected of me here.

Being a GUEST of this Forum, I suggest you take that into account.

On with your sale."

hmm I understand both sides.. He thought you amperage alt was excess as well as your price (nice price imo, who built it?) and it being his job as site god to question everything that doesnt fit his liking .. and I more than agree with your point as it was needed, served its purpose, and is being sold at a reasonable price.. and you did not appreciate him adding his useless opinions to your thread.. being that he wasnt as much of an expert as he thought

yeah it kind of comes down to the end where he basically states that if you dont agree with him he'll ban you.

He knows you were right, and he just wont admit to it.

pretty basic and easy to understand.

need more current to power a bigger amp.

the guys obviously far from being into spl, and is just some idiot who thinks he knows what hes talking about.

you dont want to send him over here... he will get tha shit slapped outa him...
and that would be the idea.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

"so by you stating that my alt has no need what so ever to anyone, and trying to sell your alts on my for sale thread is ok

i'm a little lost, i had a need for the alt i no longer have a need so maybe some one else does and you demanding that i lower my price cause of your opinion

How can you justify that. I think you have gone a little over board."

Him

"MY alts in the group buy? I wasn't aware I was selling any. I thought (I may have been mistaken) that I was using that MILD discounted group buy as a price guidline for you and our members who are watching this topic.

There's two things that really bug me.

1. People wasting money on parts that are either unnecessary or overpriced.

2. People that think bigger is always better.

I posted a price check compared to a VERY trusted and respected vendor that we have used several times with great success. This is TO YOUR BENEFIT. With your price so far out in fantasy land, you would have had NO interest in your sale. Now that you know, you can adjust your price and sell your part.

And to our member's benefit, proper CAUTIONS have been posted. There isn't a member here that I'm aware of that would even remotely need that much of an amp rating on an alternator. And I'm pretty **** familiar with the cars here, as you might imagine.

You are welcome to continue your sale, adjust your price, or whatever, but one thing you will NOT do is question the authority that keeps this Forum running smoothly on a daily basis, and saves our members COUNTLESS dollars."
