what if i was to make the box in there (glass mould for the floor obviously) and then do the false floor, and then in the corner have a little port some how (external, so it wouldnt take up any box space)?

I've HEARD that the newer AP/TC stuff isnt as good as before the whole bankruptcy thing went down. True or no?
Yeah, I've HEARD that as well but for various reasons. None of which give me the impression that I should refrain from buying TC products. It's the price that does that for me, lol. Fact is, you will always be able to find someone who doesn't like the old TC, someone who doesn't like the new TC, someone who doesn't like TC altogether, and someone who loves TC no matter what. The only way to find out how you might fit into any of those categories is by experience, not by what others say. If I'd listened to what others had said about many of the TC's I now own, I would have missed out BIG TIME.
Having said that, I have yet to purchase any of the newest products from TC so I can't help you with firsthand experience on this one. If you went that route, at least you would have the piece of mind that any problems you might have with the driver would be backed by PE's service, which is quite good. You could return the driver if anything is wrong with it. Only problem here is that if you buy the clearance EPIC, you might not be able to get an exchange on it. Beerdrnkr said he couldn't order three of them so I would imagine they're pretty limited for stock on those.

They have 1 in stock, but she said if i place an order for 3, they will be on backorder for up to 30 days possibly, but they are getting more in stock. so i think im just going to order them...

Out of the 3 you're looking at, I'd have to go with the Dayton Titanics. Roughly all have the same XMAX (2 @ 18mm, 1 @ 22mm), but the Dayton has the highest SPL @ 1w/1m at 88, the other two were 84 and 83dB 1w/1m. Sound is all subjective so it's hard to take that into account.

The SA-12's I heard were impressive, so I don't see why the 10's would be much different.

And that's the key. On paper, things can look pretty similar but when it comes to real-world performance we can begin to flesh out the finer details. It's with this frame of mind that I suggest the EPIC for loud and low. The cherry on top will be the sound quality that he will enjoy while doing that.

I hear good things about Boston g5 10's. Although you may be able to go spg555's in that space, a little too pricey though.

I'm having a hard time finding the g5 10's but I could swear they were close to $150. I know they are basically discontinued.
