Im looking to install two 10's and an amp into a 2001 range rover for something aroung a grand, but I don't want two crappy ones that just have known names. Im looking for each of the subs to have at least 400rms and an amp that can power the two. If someone could give me advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ok do u want more SQ or SPL? More Subs that will get very loud but still sound good Resonant Engineering has all that starting with SE's, HC's, and XXX. http://www.respl.com call them for pricing 2 10's Se's should be around 300 bucks and u would need at least a 1000 watt amp at 1 ohm for them. Theres the Tsunami 1100 for around 200 off http://www.edesignaudio.com and that will leave u with some leftover money. For a Wiring kit http://www.knukonceptz.com has cheap ones or ebay kits or kits from walmart are all good. Buy urself a sheet of 3/4 Mdf and build urself a box it will be much better than prefab. a huge sheet of mdf is about 20 bucks.

Or you can get two k's or O's from elemental design. http://www.edesignaudio.com. And at this time I agree with Capone28 I'd check out edesignsaudio.com for amps. They have a good sale on a Tsunami amp. Both the sub and amp that I listed are from elemental designs.

the only reason i want 10's is because i dont want it to take up a ton of space. I'm not too familiar with all of the subwoofer lingo - i want DEEP BASS that will make my blood vibrate! Im willing to pay more because i want high quality, not just some crap box that sounds as though its broken. Thanks for your advice

also, does it matter if i use 1/2/4 ohms as long as it matches up with the amp (is there any quality lost?)
No there is no audible quality loss. some amps are stable at 4 ohms, 2 ohms, or 1 ohm. but a 1 ohm amp would handle a 4 ohm load of course. Depending on what subs u get they will only be able to be wired to a specific ohm load. if u were to get 2 DVC 4 ohm subs u could only wire it for a 1 ohm load or 4 ohm load so u would want a an amp that could do the power for ur subs at either load.

Another Choice for subs is Magnum D2's. theyr about 300 a peice and i think theyr 600 rms. Everyones been goin crazy about em lately so im sure theyr one hell of a sub.

How much space is a ton of space? I suggest a pair of SI Magnum D2 12s for $600 shipped -- http://www.stereointegrity.com

* Ported

2 ft^3 each

28 Hz tuning

* Sealed

0.8 - 1.5 ft^3 each

Use an MTX 8100D from ebay for ~$350 or so. You'll have a little bit of cash remaining for wiring.

Deep bass can be found much easier with larger subs. Maybe look into getting one nice 15. or 2 12's
