have you ever tried just hooking one coil up and see how it sounds? if not then how could you be almost positive it's not that?

Did you buy it as a working sub or what? You dont seem like you have any issues to work out with whoever you got it from haha..

Thats pretty odd dude. Was it in a box when he tested it, or free air? I have a feeling it might possibly just sound fine in the box.. But it may not..

Bitch with one VC hooked up yo shit is moving sidewayz. I had a DD 3518 that blew a coil, and then when I hooked up 1 coil that shit sounded like ***. Probably cuz I had 2000 watts going to it tho. lol.

Ya definitly weird it sounded fine. How much power was he thowing at it when he showed it to you? There is a good chance in the box it will be fine. And ya after shipping that big *** sub back and forth its gona be spendy.

$64 ONE WAY! and there gona chrage me for using their own packing when shipping back! gona try it in the bock if no good re-cone time with help from tc3k101

and he gave it about 400 rms..... same amount

well i put it into a box that tc3k101 let me have and the sound went down a SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT! i was amazed! it wasnt perfectly sealed up thats the only problem.... also im wondering if when its ported there will be this problem

Wont know til you try. Too bad he doesnt have a ported box for you to try out.. My buddy is running a ported box too and it didnt make the noise. So we can only hope it wont affect it.
