A lot of things have come together this week. Majority of the things I wanted to buy and build are taking shape as I type this.

The computer parts I ordered have started to arive (this is teh first of 3 shipments). I purchased a Pair of HD650s last saturday and they are really starting to break in (I was going to sell them but decided not to). I recently purchased the Gateway monitor you see in the pics and the Koda 8 based sub I planned on building 3 months ago is taking shape! I'm very excited for the next few days!

Pics!

You messed up on the port.
Put it all the way through to the carpet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Haha, you have md scared for a second there.

Sweet monitor! Whats the size on that bad boy?
21" wide screen baby! I just wish it supported 1080P at native rez. Smallest monitor that will do that is 24 inches and along with HDCP support, your looking at 1200+ dollars, which I am not willing to spend. I'm very happy with it otherwise (ignoring the short commings of LCDs, SED anyone?).

I have a 21" CRT. Beast weighs a ton but i don't like the refresh rates on the LCD's. I'm sure they're better by now but never was a fan. I also just bought a HD. It's a 300GB, and my third one.

Oh yea, my keyboard ownsss.

Ps, are those Sennheiser 555's?

Refresh rates? Do you mean responce times? LCDs dont refresh, per say, they stay static untill a differnet signal is inputed, so the refresh rate setting in windows has, (or shouldn't have) any affect on LCD performance.

And yeah, I've seen those huge CRTs before and I have to say that the picture quality owns any LCD.

And I've seen those crazy keyboards, far to advanced for my noobie computer mind. It does own though

And the headphones are Sennheiser HD650s.

Edit: my HDD is a WD 400 gig SE2 model with 16megs of cache........................*drools*

I've got 2 300GB Maxtor drives, and a 160GB Samsung boot drive. Here's an older pic of my set-up in my dorm... (sorry for the shitty camera phone pic).

I have the box on the floor now and added another 300GB HDD that looks identical in an external box just like that one.

ohh yah?!!?! I have a 24" Sun CRT //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif... big as they get (the gateway ones don't count)... the 19" next to it (dual monitors) looks tiny in comparison... anywho

yea i ment the ms response. I was thinking of refresh rates for games.

But dayum those new Sennheisers look nice, how do they feel/sound?

the keyboard isn't really that special, just looks cool because everythings blanked out. I've got skrillz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The Senns have black velor pads that are SOOO comfortable. No extra head, pressure or sweat is caused by wearing these headphones. I can sit for hours and feel like there is nothig on my head.

As far as sound goes..............The sound stage is wide and deep (provided you have a good recording or encoding job). You can hear the space between instruments both across and into the stage. Overall the headphones present a speaker or music hall sound. You feel as if you are sitting 7-10 rows infront of the band playing instead of right in the performance. The bass is strong and slightly muddy at first, the trebble is slightly rolled off and the midrange is crisp, clear and airy. As you break the heaphones in, the bass calms down and tightens up, the treble comes out and makes itself appearent and the midrange just gets better. Overall, they are not as *in your face* as other headphones (Grados, for example), and they can be too laid back for some people. But I like the sound, it also enables me to listen hours at a time with no ear fatigue, even at loud volumes (and yes these headphones can play loud with no appearent increase in distortion). I really like them.
