Weed Smoking

Yes. Actually I'm all for legalization of pot. I'd much rather have that in our society then alcohol. I dont have anything against weed smokers. I just have my own decision on it, and thats that I wont do it. I wont throw away my cash or my life for a projected "high". On the contraty, I have friends who think differently. The simple truth is that no drug is good or safe (except SOME medical drugs, which could be debatable). But I would definetly rather see alcohol banned and pot legalized. It would lead to a better society as a whole, less deaths, ect.
legalizing weed would make for many deaths. you know how much illegal buisness is behind that. not to mention all the competion that would arise. and people on thc or any stronger acids tend not to be calm when some shit like that goes down.

i predict huge drug war muhahahahahaha

Hence why all drugs are bad.

But, I feel that legalizing marijuanna is the less of the two evils. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Wtf are you thinking? Legalizing weed would save so many peoples lives. I've had friends held at gun point for an ounce a freaking ounce they were going to sell. They got set up by someone who of course got the hell beat of them later on. I mean you tell my boys to go sell this ounce of fire to your "friend" and instead of the "guy" being at the meeting spot two people with bandanas and guns come out and rob their shit. Easily could have gone bad, but stuff like this happens everyday over freaking weed. Oh and this was not in downtown jacksonville or anything it was actually in a rural area with barely anything going on so we knew they were definately set up.

legalizing weed won't make it free. i don't see why it would make a difference if it was legal or not in that scenario. also they were probley high.

be sides could you image a country where everyone was always high and try to work and drive places and function in the world. anyway im not an anti drug and such. im just giving my opinion

This is complete ludacris. Legalizing weed by the government would only take competition out from the streets. You take competition out, you no longer have to worry about being held at gun point by some idiot over a dime bag. You take competition out, you take out the illegal business behind it because everybody would be getting their weed from the nearest Quiki Mart. People would be getting their weed from the nearest Quiki Mart because they can afford to sell is $5 less an eigth because they get their shit from the government who grows it in huge as fields and crops. No competition would arise because the government would hold a monopoly over marijuana sales because they could grow it by the acre. And do you have any idea why marijuana is considered a gateway drug? Because the people that sell weed also sells coke, acid, meth, etc. You buying your weed from Quiki Stop, the person your buying it from no longer has acid, coke, meth. No longer this long tall tale about weed being a gateway drug.

No, your thinking the wrong way.

If it was legalized, there would be MORE deaths then if they didn't legalize it. Your "boys" getting held at gun point are a miniscule amount of people. Legalizing it would yield more deaths.

what makes you so special that they just didn't throw you in jail the firsttime you tested positive?
They did. and the second, and third, and fourth etc.......

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like I walked up in there and was like "I ain't gonna piss for ya" it took lots of wasted weekends/weeks, and time spent pleading my case.

Explain how these more deaths would happen.

Driving while high is actually pretty much the same, because you actually become more focused on the driving itself. IF weed became legal who do you think would start to grow it? Farmers duh. And trust me if you have a whole bunch of people farming marijuana which is actually one of the easiest plants to grow the price would drop and instead of going downtown to meet some shady dealer because your usual guy is out of town or doesnt have any weed you would go to the gas station and pick up say a 5 pack of joints or w/e. Also if weed were legal the government could easily use it to start hacking into are high national debt. Just like tobacco weed could be taxed as well and still easily be much cheaper than any dealer could get it for you.

IDk how it would yield more deaths lol. I mean you never hear of pot heads going on psychotic tears gunning people down, and also driving is pretty much the same as sober because you actually pay more attention. please defend your argument with a little bit of information to back it up then saying more people would die. thats pretty weak.

X2 on everypoint you have made.

As I stated earlier, I am all for legalization. Heres why:

Simply put, less short and long term effects.

The government would GREATLY benifit from this. They could tax it, and like stated in what I quoted above, bring in massive income, while keeping prices to consumers lower.

This, in turn, would result in less people having to deal with dealers trying to make a buck. No more deals gone sour when somebody doesnt have money and wants weed and they bring a gun. No more illegal crime from it. No more overcrowding jails.

At a time of high gas prices, our counrty needs a new source of income so other ways of fuel and automotive power sources can be introduced. Right now the government relies too much on the revenue of gas taxes. If we get another huge source of income, the government will allow these other fuel sources to happen since they will no longer rely so much on the gas taxes.

Lets see, you cant overdose on marijuana. Well, technically you could, but you have to smoke close to twice your body weight in weed in under an hour. For me, that would be around 400 lbs. I cant even smoke an oz before I pass out. So we can rule OD out as the increase of deaths. Plus, HOW THE HELL WOULD YOU GET THIS MUCH WEED?

Driving while high. Well, granted, I dont think this is very smart, but you are extremely focused even when you are in a car while you are high because you are extremely paranoid. You reaction time is a little bit slower, but most stoner are fully aware of this and drive that much slower because they are fully aware how stoned they are and what they need to do in order to prevent a wreck. So, people driving high may not be smart, but it does not effect driving performance enough to account for more deaths per year.

People going crazy while high is out of the question too. Getting high doesnt make you go crazy. It doesnt make you do things you normally wouldnt do. Your not going to go out and kill your parents and not know what happened the next day. Then again, even if you wanted to, you probably wouldnt be able to. I can barely get myself a coke from the fridge 5 feet away from me when Im high. The craziest thing Ive ever done while high was eat a peanut butter and mayo sandwhich with tuna. Appetite is pretty much the only thing that is crazily effected by getting high.

So...I really see no way for death rate to increase over the legalization. Its only going to decrease because people wont have to get it from idiots who go crazy and decide to turn a deal south over an eigth. AND people would be less harmed because of where they where getting thier weed from. Laced weed is not fun. Ive yet to experience first hand and I really dont want to. All the more reason to legalize it right there.
